Evelyn Glennie
A very remarkable woman. Remarkable? Well, her musical achievements in
advancing the role and profile of the percussion instruments would pretty
much justify that description on their own. Add on the fact that her
artistry and personality have enabled her to make solo percussion a major
draw, filling big theatres with the kind of crowds usually reserved for
rock stars. And then consider that she has done so despite being totally
deaf from her early teens, and yeah, we think that's pretty remarkable.
