Nana Vasconcelos

Brilliant Brasilian percussionist strongly world orientated, Nana has worked with Pat Metheny, Don Cherry, Jan Garbarek, Ron Carter, Egberto Gismonti, and recently with Andy Sheppard and Steve Lodder in the trio 'Inclassificable'. This shot was made after a solo show in which Nana performed on a collection of homemade instruments as well as using his chest as a percussive instrument, and singing. He is also the man who gave audience participation a good name.
